HULT PRIZE Competition at MCS

The on-campus final of the world’s largest social entrepreneurship competition, the Hult Prize, was held at Military College of Signals, NUST on 9th March 2022.  The Hult Prize Foundation, in partnership with United Nations, transforms every possibility for the students and provides a platform for them to make a positive impact on the society by bringing different innovative business ideas. 25 teams from the campus consisting of 3 to 4 participants each took part in the competition. Students pitched their business ideas to the esteemed panel of judges. The judges – Shujat Khalid, Cofounder Pakistan National Investment Portal; Usama bin Sana, Chief Growth Officer at One Network; Ujala Javaid, Talent Acquisition Expert at PTCL group; Dilawaiz Moomina, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Zones IT; Usama Chaudhary, CEO at VIRA; and Ammar Jafri, Director General of the Center of Information Technology – evaluated their startups and selected the winning startup that qualified to the regional finals and will compete with the teams of the region (Central and South Asia).

The team Falcons consisting of 4 members Sahar Asad, Iqra Rani, Ansa Farukh and Habibah Saeed were declared winners. Their idea was a national waste management and sorting system. The 1st runner-up team, Pace Setters, included Ammar Farooq, Suleman Waraich, Ayesha Malik and M Fahad Asif while the 2nd runner-ups, Enigma, had Obaidullah Ahmad, Ateeq Khan, Hisham Hassan and Habib Hussain.

Dean MCS Dr Asif Masood graced the prize distribution ceremony and presented shields to the winners and judges. The dean motivated the students to participate in such competitions as it contributes to their intellectual growth.
