Department of Humanities & Basic Sciences (H&BS) of Military College of Signals (MCS) was established on 6th February, 2011. The department comprises of eight faculty members who are highly qualified in their respective disciplines. The courses offered by the department are mainly divided into humanities and basic sciences subjects, which cover almost one fourth of the entire engineering curriculum at undergraduate level. The syllabus has been designed to enrich the students’ knowledge towards the subjects with a view to helping them in the understanding of their core engineering subjects.

Department of Humanities & Basic Sciences(H&BS) is an integral part of MCS and cater for the fulfillment of HEC & PEC requirements by offering subjects of basic sciences and humanities group. These subjects constitute almost 30% of overall UG curricula. This department offers a number of subjects in Humanities and Basic sciences taught by the Faculty Members working at the forefront of their disciplines. The aim is to equip students with the professional competency and valuable knowledge as well as with critical thinking and problem solving, communication and teamwork skills. We also encourage the students to absorb human and professional values. This empowers our students for their future careers in the business and industrial sectors. All faculty members are actively engaged in research activities and dedicated to provide an excellent learning experience.

VISION & MISSION

The Department of Humanities & Basic Sciences aims to provide a comprehensive requisite knowledge of Applied Physics, Mathematics, Communication & Interpersonal Skills, Islamic & Pakistan Studies, and Engineering Economics to the undergraduate engineering students of Computer & Electrical Engineering. The courses offered by the department cover almost one fourth of the entire engineering curriculum. The syllabus has been designed to enrich the students’ understanding towards the subjects with a view to helping them in the understanding of their core engineering subjects. To inculcate quality education highly qualified permanent and visiting faculty is employed by the College.
